Their whole escape plan had gone horribly wrong.
Of course it had, Tina couldn't believe that she'd thought it would work. When Dwight and Sherry came to her with a cooler full of stolen insulin and backpacks, ready to leave, Tina should have told them that it was stupid, they were fine there– even if she wasn't 100% sure of if she should refuse or accept Negan's marriage proposal at the moment, their chances of survival were way higher if they stayed. But she'd allowed them to convince her that they would be fine on their own, that they didn't need a group, and now people were dead because of that.
Convincing them to go back wasn't hard after the reanimated bodies of Carla and Delly —who wouldn't be dead in the first place if Dwight hadn't had to start a forest fire to distract the saviors after them— almost mauled her. As soon as they got back to the sanctuary, the backpack with the stolen insulin was taken from them, Dwight was taking the blame without any hesitation. Tina tried to say that it wasn't all his fault, but he kept telling her to stop trying to protect him. Sherry, on the other hand, stayed quiet.
Tina had to resist the urge to take her sister's hand when Simon took them to the room with the furnace. She gripped her own wrist instead, trying to force her own heart to stop beating like it wanted to burst out and run away.
She hadn't been 100% sure of what her answer to Negan's offer would be before, but she was now, although given how unpredictable the man could be, Tina didn't want to think of what punishment might await them, but one thing was certain to her: Negan wouldn't be happy.
